to the desk. >>> we begin with breaking news from oakland. police are investigating three homicides. there are two different scenes. one in oakland. one in west oakland and one in east oakland. ktvu alex savidge is live on walnut street. good morning, alex. >> reporter: good morning. the sergeant here on scene told me in this case a woman was found stabbed to death early this morning. officers are still out here on scene. you can see a couple patrol cars parked out here on this street. the stabbing happened inside this apartment building in a second floor unit. we'll show you video we shot a short time ago. this is all taking place in the 5800 block of walnut. neighbors called 911 just about two hours ago. around 2:30 this morning. when officers aryed here on scene they went inside this unit and found this woman with multiple stab wounds and she died here on scene. a sergeant told me a short time ago police do have a possible suspect. a man in custody at this point. they are not saying much about who this person is. and the motive at least at this point according to the sergeant rem

eyewitness news in high definition. >>> breaking news in oakland four people have been shot all within a couple blocks of one another. cbs 5 reporter christin ayers is there. chris christin. >> that's correct we have a massive scene out here along sixth street. a long scene. you can see multiple cruisers. this area encompassing about six blocks where we're being told shootings happened and multiple people involved in the shootings. multiple victims from what we're hearing right now. four people shot. one person according to authorities is in critical condition at this moment. we don't know the conditions of the other four currently. and information just coming in at this moment. i talked to a couple neighbors in this area that heard the gunfire a short time ago before we arrived on scene. they described hearing maybe a dozen shots and coming out and seeing people laying in the street. we're hearing four victim so far in this east oakland neighborhoods. a very large presence in east oakland. no word on whether authorities have been able to track down the shooters. christin ayers cbs 5.

people were shot to death in the 800 block of mead avenue in west oakland. then at about 2:30, one person was killed in a stabbing on walnut street in the seminary area of oakland. police are investigating the possibility that the killings are related. >>> the chp pulled a bmw over for speeding in oakland last night but when officers walked toward the car the driver took off. a minute later crashed into a lincoln continental at the 98th avenue on-ramp to i-580. someone in the back seat of the lincoln was killed. the bmw's driver was caught shortly after taking off. >>> a shooting now under investigation at an east bay bart station. the 18-year-old victim is expected to recover. he was shot in the parking lot at the pittsburg-bay point station just before 7:00 last night. at this time, they don't have any suspects. the shooting and investigation caused some major delays though for bart riders. >>> gunfire from police hit the suspect at an el cerrito gas station. it happened last night just after 6:30. police say they came across a man pistol whipping a woman at a chevron station at

chp officers patrolling the streets of oakland pulled over a bmw for speeding. the driver initially stopped but once the officers got out of their car, investigators say the bmw sped away. less than a mile away, the chp says the driver of the silver bmw m6 broadsided a black lincoln on 98th avenue. the impact killed a passenger in the sedan. investigators say the woman was in her early 20s. four other people inside the lincoln suffered from minor to serious injuries. witnesses say the impact could be heard from blocks away. >> a big noise. boom. >> reporter: the chp says after the crash, the bmw's driver and his passenger ran off but officers captured the driver nearby 34-year-old moore facing two charges, evading police and vehicular manslaughter. >> did not appear to be very much under the influence. he was able to exit his vehicle and flee the scene. so that would show that he is coherent. >> reporter: the surveillance footage shows the passengers trying to get away from police. they are looking for him. in oakland, i'm da lin cbs 5. >>> prosecutors have filed murder charges agai

used the stolen credit cards. >> alameda county's of bomb squad shut down this section of oakland in an attempt to remote old at&t. if this is video from abc 7 news. some residents were evacuated after police learned someone wanted to turn in some old at&t from world war 2. the bomb squad was called in to remove the more than 5 lbs. of the explosives. police also had to close off the 900 block of the 36 street at market. >> some mall shoppers and sacramento were set into a panic after they heard what sounded like gunshots. this was the scene yesterday shoppers ran from the art and fair mall. mall security say that the noise was actually coming from a brawl that broke out involving 20 people. officials say they found no evidence of a shooting. many stores went into lockdown, closing their metal gates when the fight started. police believe that sound so large signs falling over may have led people to report shots being fired. the mall has since been reopened for people involved in the brawl were arrested. >> coming up on kron 4 morning news. we will tell you what officials and newto
